(Bo Luo Bao 菠蘿包)

Sweet Bun Ingredient

( Make 8 Sweet Bun )
200g Strong Bread Flour
100g Warm water
3g Dried Yeast
8g Milk Powder
20g Unsalted Butter
8g Custard Powder
2 Big Egg
30g Caster Sugar

Step 1

Add the yeast to the warm water and wait for it to fermenate ( 5-10min )

Step 2
Mix  200g Strong Bread Flour with 8g Milk Powder, 8g Custard Powder and the 30g Caster Sugar. After mixing all together, make a small hole in the centre and crack in the egg and mix together. Pour the water a little at a time as we mix the mixture. Add in the Yeast water, may ot need all the water.
Kneat the dough for about 10 - 15min  until it is soft and it does not stick onto the hand. Let it rest for rest for 45min - 1hr to raise. cut the portion into 8 portion, roll it into a ball, set aside again for it to rest another 30 - 45 min and then it is ready.

Bo Luo Bun Cover

65g Self Raising Flour
1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
20g unsalted Butter
25g Custard Sugar
4g Milk Powder
1 Big Egg Yolk

Step 1
Mix the unsalted Butter with the Caster Sugar, add in the egg yolk.

Step 2
Pour in all the flour into a big bowl, mix in the baking powder, add in the milk powder, lastly pour all the flour ingredient into the butter, castard Sugar, Egg yolk and knead until the dough is firm. wrap it in a bag and put in the refrigerator for about 30min.

It is ready. Roll it as thin as possible and spread it over the top of the Sweet Bun. Brush it with some egg yolk .
